MC1 Device Setup guide

Ensure screen and GNSS receiver are powered on. The sim card is located in the receiver and is active. The following images are taken using MC1 Version 7.1.0, some menus make look different depending on version, however principles remain the same.

 

Main menu - Positioning 





  1. There may already be a profile created- if not you can add a profile here
  2. Enter the positioning profile- you can also see number of satellites connected on this page too, and increase accuracy threshold


 

     3. Ensure modem is selected 





4. Leave PIN and PUK as they are 





5. If you are using a Premium Positioning sim card, enter APN string: simpoint.m2m. Leave username and password blank (APN info based on sim card supplier and can be found by a quick google search) This is NOT where the user inserts their credentials. Tap connect.




6. Enter address and port number. Followed by users' credentials. Then hit connect before going to the next page.

 

7. If the connection is successful it will allow you to go to next page and select the mountpoint ‘COMMON’, network type can be MAX, IMAX or VRS.




8. Leave as it is on this page



9. The operator should know what antennas are on the machine. If unsure, get them to check. If in doubt- it does not make a huge difference. 




10. Final page- ensure corrections are at 100% and the position type is fixed.
